Volkswagen will be recalling about 261,257 VW and Audi units. All because of a problem in the fuel tank. There’s an effort to replace the defective suction pump that could potentially turn into fuel leakage from the gas tank. Of course, the automaker, had documents filed with the NHTSA, which includes front-wheel-drive vehicles, with a certain model of suction jet pumps that had been made by Gentherm, as one section of the fuel tank assembly.

Cars that are getting recalled by Volkswagen are including the 114,458 units of the 2015–2020 Golf GTI, 58,544 units of the 2015–2020 Golf, 26,037 units of the 2015–2019 Golf SportWagen, 10,925 units of the 2019–2020 Jetta GLI, 47,391 units of the 2015–2020 Audi A3 sedan and 3,875 units of the cabriolet.

Of course, Volkswagen is doing the right thing by telling people about this problem. Because the truth is, these cars could potentially be death machines if one isn’t careful enough and even something as minor as a gas tank defect could very well spell the difference of safety and danger. We have no proof that would say otherwise.

The cars that we drive today are no different than the cars our grandparents had to drive, forever ago. In the sense that just because there are more safety features and reminders, these vehicles do require constant inspection and maintenance, as they are investments. And for the general welfare of both you and your company, it makes sense to watch out for these recall notices. Chances are the relevant owners will know by April 12th, as it is then that the owners will find out if their vehicle is affected by a glance at the NHTSA recalls site. Which is beyond helpful.

The only thing more useful than accountability is action to recognize and correct. Luckily, in Volkswagen’s case, there hasn’t been any known fires that could’ve come from this unfortunate instance.
